Welcome Committee

New members and prospective members move into the area and are looking for a "faith community."  Mustang and the surrounding area is growing quickly.  The potential for growth as a parish church will be realized in the days, months, and years to come.  At present, we strongly believe we are a friendly and welcoming group of Catholic Christians.  But we also strongly believe we, as Catholics, have a long way to go in adequately and properly welcoming newcomers.

When someone, a family or an individual, moves into our community and expresses a desire to become a member of Holy Spirit, the name or names will be given to the Coordinator of the Welcome Committee.  A trained couple (either a man and wife or two single or widowed persons) will be assigned to make a personal visit to the home, introduce themselves, extend a gift or welcome basket from the parish, provide a welcome packet, and let them know they are genuinely appreciated.  The couple will invite them to study the packet and hopefully, become ministerially active in the parish.

Newcomers will be contacted by phone to arrange a convenient time for a visit.  This visit will be brief, not more than an hour, but sincere.
