Who is eligible? The Holy Spirit Catholic
Church scholarship is offered to any registered Holy Spirit parishioner
who is actively involved and in good standing with the church. The
parishioner can be presently attending or accepted as an undergraduate
student to a 2- or 4-year college/university in the fall of the year of
the scholarship period.
How often can a recipient reapply? Each scholarship
recipient may reapply each year for consideration of scholarship.
Recipients may receive this scholarship a maximum of four years.
Preference/Consideration: Students must be in need of
money to begin or continue their education. Preference will be given
to students who attend a Catholic university or college. Low income
families will receive preference. Families who do not fall within
the low income category will be given consideration based on the number of
children in the family.
Requirements: Students must demonstrate scholastic ability.
An official high school transcript, and/or college transcript must be
submitted with the application. Proof of acceptance into a college
or university is required to receive a scholarship. The recipient is
required to show proof of maintaining a 2.25 grade point average for a
minimum of 12 semester hours. Proof of enrollment will be provided
to the church before money is awarded.
Due Date: Deadline for scholarship application to be considered
must be received no later than March 1, 2005, for the 2005-2006 school
year. The application may be submitted by either the student or
his/her parent.
Pastor Recommendation: The Pastor will be asked to
complete a questionnaire on each applicant who submits a complete
application.
No Eligible Applications: If there are no eligible
applications, scholarship money for that period will be carried over to
the next scholarship period.
