| This committee serves the parish community through creation of a
master plan for the parish property which indicates how it will be developed, the
landscaping, placement of buildings, parking lots, recreation areas, exterior prayer and
meditation space. The care of the property and its buildings is a primary
responsibility of this committee. Preventive maintenance is its goal. It is
much easier and less costly to plan ahead and to care for equipment, buildings, and
grounds than to respond to crisis situations.
The Administrative Assistant is to head this committee and oversee its work.
Neither the Administrative Assistant nor the committee should fall into the trap of
thinking they have to do it all themselves.
Some maintenance or repair must be accomplished by professionals. Other
matters require the utilization of the gifts and talents of the church community. At
least twice a year, a work day should be organized by this group to accomplish the task of
doing an overall cleanup and beautification of the property. |
