| A member of the Altar Society is designated by
the president to serve as the head of this committee.
Whenever a member of the parish dies, the pastor notifies the head of this
committee that a death has occurred. She is informed of the days and times of
services and the anticipated number of persons to expect for the funeral dinner.
The meal is usually served in the Parish Hall immediately
after the Mass and graveside service. On occasion, the food is taken to the home of
the bereaved and either simply dropped off or served in accordance with the desires of
recipients.
